Chester Valley Gives Back

Volunteer days in Anchorage

Each quarter the employees from Chester Valley Veterinary Hospital do some volunteer days where they give back to the community in one way or another. What we do sometimes changes, but the central focus is on community, charity, and generosity. Take a look at some of the things we have done recently, and check back to see more later!

April 2012 - Central Middle School of Science

In April Chester Valley Veterinary Hospital sent volunteers to Anchorage, Alaska for the annual career fair. We helped educate the students about our job responsibilities and careers we have working with the variety of animals at the clinic. Dr. Kesting talked about her education and the ways both she and the staff use skills that they have learned at school, as well as in Chester Valley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Kesting also spoke in detail with the students about their interest in animal health care, including the process of education & knowledge that they needed to learn to become a veterinarian. She also illustrated different avenues of learning veterinarian care outside of working in a clinic/hospital setting. We also spoke about some of the surgeries we do, showed them x-rays and a few of our diagnostic procedures. We asked them about poisons that can affect pets and gave out t-shirts, pens, magnets, and candy.
